Confidence and Resilience in Academia

This special session focuses on confidence and resiliency building in academia for undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral scholars in physics and related disciplines. Navigating degrees or post-degrees in academia is a marathon – so how do we approach our academic experiences without burning out in the process? Join Lisa Sansom for an afterhours event to engage with research, best practices, and your colleagues on raising our confidence and resilience in academic spaces and beyond!

Speaker: Lisa Sansom is the Executive Director of the School of Graduate Studies (Queen’s University) and the founder of LVS Consulting. She holds an MBA and Masters in applied positive psychology. Lisa’s consulting work has brought her to sectors in retail, education, government, finance, health care, business and non-profits. She is dedicated to creating healthier workplaces where employees feel a sense of belonging and community, as well as supporting these values with training and research on positive organizations.
