SNOLAB receives $102M federal investment

SNOLAB has been awarded $102 million over the next six years from the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI) Major Science Initiatives (MSI) program. This round of CFI funding was shared between 14 Canadian institutions and totaled $628 million.

Dr. Jodi Cooley, Executive director of SNOLAB, said of the funding, “This is terrific news for Canada’s growing astroparticle physics research community, for SNOLAB’s hundreds of international collaborators, and for Greater Sudbury… These funds will allow us to continue to attract world class experiments to Sudbury, providing great opportunities for Canadian researchers and industry.”
