Integrated Project Delivery Centre (IPDC)

How to Apply

The Integrated Project Delivery Centre (IPDC) provides access to specialized engineering and technical expertise to support the design, fabrication, and assembly of major experimental projects in astroparticle physics across Canada.

Researchers and project leaders can apply for IPDC support by submitting a formal Project Application form. This process ensures that each request is reviewed fairly, assessed for feasibility, and aligned with the McDonald Institute’s research strategy.

Application Process

Step 1: Submit a Project Application
Begin by completing the Project Application Form. You’ll be asked to provide:

  • Project title and short description

  • Applicant name, institution, and contact information

  • Summary of technical requirements and deliverables

  • Estimated personnel requirements and oversight plans

  • Preliminary budget and funding status

  • Project timeline and key milestones

  • Any identified technical or operational risks

Once submitted, your application will generate a Project Ticket, which will be used to track progress throughout the lifecycle of your request.

Step 2: Feasibility Review
Your application will be reviewed by the Project Feasibility Committee (PFC), which will assess technical feasibility, staffing requirements, scheduling, and alignment with IPDC priorities.
You may be contacted for additional information during this stage.

Step 3: Resource Allocation Review
For larger or more complex projects, the Resource Allocation Committee (RAC) will review the PFC’s assessment and determine whether IPDC resources can be allocated to support your request.

Step 4: Notification and Project Start
Applicants will be informed of the outcome. If approved, IPDC management will work with you to finalize a Design or Project Scope Specification, which outlines the scope of work, deliverables, budget, and oversight.
Work can then begin with the assigned technical team.
