Aug. 7-9: National Meeting

The Arthur B. McDonald Canadian Astroparticle Physics Research Institute is hosting its annual National Meeting at Queen’s University from August 7-9. This event is open to all members of the Canadian astroparticle physics research community.

The meeting will follow a special one-day HQP workshop on Aug. 6, with an open optional evening social event for all national meeting participants.

HQP Travel Support

The McDonald Institute is invested in attracting HQP to participate in long-term planning and professional networking as fundamental to the success of any Big-Science discipline. For this reason, students and fellows travelling to attend this year’s meeting will be eligible for university campus lodging paid by the McDonald Institute. If your supervisor does not have discretionary budget in excess of $250 to support your travel to and from the meeting, the Institute will provide limited travel reimbursement support, which should be arranged by a supervisor’s request to edward.thomas@mcdonaldinstitute.ca. As per previous meetings, all attendees are also eligible for the Institute’s caregiver and accessibility assistance program. Reimbursement claims must be made by supervising P.I.’s no later than 30 days after the conclusion of the meeting (details to be circulated with formal registration form).

Caregiver Support

The McDonald Institute will reimburse eligible extraordinary costs incurred by meeting participants who have caregiving responsibilities for another person. A detailed schedule of eligible costs and mechanism for reimbursement are described here.
