Are you looking to improve your project and time management skills? The McDonald Institute has partnered with Mitacs to offer students and postdocs training on these essential skills on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 1pm ET. Not only will you have the opportunity to learn from facilitator Kirby James, but you’ll also earn recognition for your skills through the Mitacs Edge program, which is a great addition to your CV and resume.
What can you expect during the session? Mitacs’ Project Management and Time Management session is designed to provide learners with the opportunity to practice delivering project status updates to their stakeholders (i.e., supervisors, collaborators, funders, etc.). Learners will draft and present their updates to small groups and receive feedback from their peers. These are skills that will help you stay focused, gain alignment, and work efficiently.
Before the session, participants must complete the asynchronous Part 1 (Spur Up Your Project and Time Management Skills). This module is a two-hour-maximum investment and can be completed all at once or in shorter increments. These skills are essential for professionals in and outside of academia to work effectively and collaboratively throughout their careers.
To register for this training opportunity, follow the instructions in the Registration Information. The Part 2 session will be held in a hybrid format, so students at Queen’s University can choose to attend in person or join us online with members of the national network. Snacks and refreshments will be provided for those attending in person.
