Project and Time Management Part 1
A Professional Development Opportunities Session
Professional Development Opportunities
Date: October 27, 2022
Time: 1:00pm - 2:30pm
The Professional Development Opportunities (PDO) program aims to offer training opportunities for astroparticle physics community members, such as yourself, to bolster your skill sets while also bringing together different groups within the McDonald Institute community.
Be sure to register for the next Professional Development Opportunities Session this Thursday October 27 at 1pm-2:30pm EDT. We’re offering our first hybrid workshop of the year – so join in to meet folks in-person (at Queen’s University) and online from across the astroparticle physics network!
The McDonald Institute is excited to partner with Mitacs for a special two-part opportunity to bolster your project and time management skills. On October 27th, participants will co-work through Part 1: “Spur up your project management and time management skills.” While you can do this module at any time asynchronously, we hope creating space to learn together fosters a greater sense of community.
After completing Part 1, we’ll come back together on Thursday November 17th at 1pm-2:30pm EST to meet our guest speaker Kirby James and hear more about Part 2: “Project and Time Management.”. Kirby regularly conducts workshops and keynote addresses across North America for CEO’s and future leaders on communication, strategy, project management & creating excellence. 25,000+ people have attended his sessions. This facilitated session is designed to provide learners with the opportunity to practice delivering project status updates to their stakeholders. Learners will draft and present their updates to small groups and receive feedback from their peers. These are skills that will help you stay focused, gain alignment, and work efficiently.
Please note, you must complete Part 1 (either with us on Oct. 27, or asynchronously) to participate in Part 2 (November 17).
