Back to (Mass-)Square(d) One: The Neutrino Mass Ordering after NOvA and T2K recent results
The neutrino mass ordering plays a major role not only in oscillation but also in other observables such as neutrinoless double beta decay and cosmological measurements. Recent (Neutrino 2020) results from NOvA and T2K completely changed the preference for the neutrino mass ordering. Before Neutrino 2020 the preference for the normal ordering was above 3 sigma. Curiously, the recent data from NOvA and T2K individually prefer normal ordering, but their combination points to inverted ordering. I will explain this preference and comment on the recent global fit results.
