SNOLAB and the McDonald Institute invite you to the 2023 CASST Competition. The Canadian Astroparticle Physics Summer Student Talk Competition is an annual event for undergraduate students.

Registration is now open and the Deadline has been extended!

Extended Deadline for abstract submissions is August 11th!

SNOLAB and the McDonald Institute will co-host this event and will be a hybrid format, with an in-person option at Laurentian University for students who are able to travel. For those travelling to Sudbury, there are residence rooms at Laurentian University available for $50/night. Please indicate that you would like a residence room on the registration page.

This event is for undergraduate students to show their work and will include networking opportunities. Participation in person or virtually is welcome. Prizes will be awarded for the best talks.

Students who do not wish to present are welcome to register as viewers. All summer students who are not currently engaged in graduate studies or have a graduate degree are encouraged to attend and submit an abstract. A final programme will be posted following registrations.

The McDonald Institute is coordinating student travel (carpooling) from Kingston to Sudbury on Wednesday, Aug 16th and returning Saturday, Aug 19th. If you need a ride or are planning on driving and have a ride to offer, please let us know through the link below.

We need to know if you need a ride/have a ride to offer by Thursday, August 10th.

If you’re in Montréal, Ottawa, or even Toronto, it may make sense to take a train to Kingston and join the carpool to Sudbury from here.
