Gopolang Mohlabeng

Gopolang Mohlabeng is a Postdoctoral Fellow working with Prof. Aaron Vincent at Queen’s University.

Gopolang is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Astroparticle theory group working on various aspects of dark matter phenomenology. He is originally from South Africa where he completed his undergraduate degree.

Gopolang completed his Ph.D in theoretical particle physics at the University of Kansas and then moved to Brookhaven National Laboratory as a Postdoctoral research associate. He then moved to Queen’s University to join the McDonald Institute.

My favourite aspects of my role are being able to direct my own research program with support of [astroparticle physics] faculty. I am also very happy to be able to work with students.

When Gopolang isn’t thinking about research, he is thinking about football (soccer). He is an avid football fan and loves playing it too. Gopolang’s favourite team is Arsenal. He is also passionate about travelling and trying new foods from all over the world.
