Aksel is an experimental astroparticle physicist whose research focuses on measurements of astroparticle neutrinos and investigating neutrino properties. As a member of the SNO, SNO+, DEAP/CLEAN and DarkSide-20k collaborations, Aksel is involved in both neutrino and galactic dark matter searches. Aksel is the Vice-Chair of SNOLAB, and one of the leads for the particle physics research group at the University of Alberta.
