Undergraduate Position, TRIUMF – Photon Entanglement

This position represents an open-ended call for applicants. Applications and communications from qualified, interested candidates are welcome at any time. The position will be removed when it has been filled.
This position is open to those pursuing an undergraduate degree in physics, engineering, or related equivalent who have a strong interest in quantum optics and hardware development. This opportunity is intended as a co-op research project.
The successful candidate will work on the development of a single photon light source under the supervision of Prof. Fabrice Retière at TRIUMF in Vancouver, British Columbia. On-site work will be a major component of this position.
The project would include the design, development, and testing of a single photon light source based on parametric down-conversion and photon entanglement.
Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Fabrice to apply. Please note that the deadline to discuss summer research positions is typically April annually, and honours projects should be negotiated and set in place by the Winter/Spring semester before the candidates final year of study.
