Graduate Position, Carleton University – Theory

This position is open to those with or finishing an undergraduate or master degree in physics, astronomy, engineering physics, or related equivalent who have a strong interest in fundamental physics and cosmology. This opportunity is flexible in term, and may be a 2 year Master’s of Science (MSc) for domestic candidates or a 5 year Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) position for domestic and international candidates, depending on the interest and qualification of the successful incumbent.

The successful candidate will work in the field of astroparticle physics in particular dark matter and neutrino physics under the supervision of Prof. Yue Zhang at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. Potential projects will involve both model building and theory calculations that are closely connected to existing and near-future experimental results in particle and astroparticle physics. This is an extremely exciting research area where novel ideas and important results are constantly put forward.

Interested candidates are welcome to contact Prof. Zhang before applying. A strong application would include being in scholarship standing or a high score in physics courses, previous research experience, and a compelling, well-directed research statement.
